The Manuscripts of Timbuktu (2009, 52 min), by Zola Maseko - examines the life of one of Africa's greatest scholars, Ahmed Baba, and the ancient manuscripts from Timbuktu; one the ancient worlds' preeminent centers of learning.

Kissed by the Sun: A Study of Nile Valley Cultural Continuity
(2013, 15 min), by Dr. Steffan Spencer - celebrates the vibrant cultural continuity connecting the great Nile Valley Civilizations of Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan.

Filmmaker, Howard alum and noted African scholar Dr. Steffan A. Spencer will join our post-film discussion. Our moderator will be Mwiza Munthali, Public Outreach Director of TransAfrica.
