Maciene: Beyond the Dream by Isabel Noronha

Maciene: Beyond the Dream tells a story of an ancient legend from Gaza province, in Mozambique, where the world of the ancestors has constant interplay with modern life, making Maciene “the place where God found Serenity.”  (Portuguese w/ English subtitles).

After our screening, we will be led in our discussion by filmmaker Isabel Noronha and her husband, fellow filmmaker, Camilo de Sousa, who are visiting from Mozambique.

Film presented by TransAfrica – the oldest and largest African American human rights and social justice advocacy organization promoting diversity and equity in the foreign policy arena and justice for the African World.
