EDUCATING AFRO-DESCENDANTS IN THE U.S.
TransAfrica educates Afro-descendants in the U.S. about their civic and political rights and how to advocate and protect their rights.
TransAfrica believes that Afro-descendants in the U.S. should have equal access to information and advocacy skill-sets that give them the opportunity to fight for politicaland economic change. Through both informal gatherings and more formal meetings TransAfrica is working with grassroots groups and their communities to strengthen the political base of people of African descent in the U.S. Simultaneously, TransAfrica provides know-your-rights trainings to communities who face legalized disenfranchisement due to perceived immigration status, ethnicity, race or class. Through the TransAfrica training programs, members of Africa, her Diaspora, and our allies gain invaluable skills to build broad coalitions, protect individual rights and support advocacy and lobbying work.
